Upon taking my new job, I decided to start working towards getting my MCPD (Web Applications, .NET 4.0) certification.
As I haven’t been placed at a client site yet, I’ve had a lot of time on the bench to study for the first exam in the series, 70-515 – Web Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
I used different resources in my preparation for the exam:
- Bought/Read the Self-Paced Training Kit
- Utilized the practice exams on the CD
- Utilized Transcender practice exams
- Also took a shot at using uCertify practice exams/study material
I utilized all these practice exams to have a wide range of questions thrown at me. To be completely honest, I took the test and failed it by only utilizing one of those resources (Transcender). I will say, though, it seems as though the exams from the CD and uCertify were better resources than the Transcender exams. I can’t argue the fact that after seeing the questions so many times that you being to memorize answers, but for me, it was a great learning experience overall in the .NET 4 world.
Now that this one is out of the way, its time to begin studying for the next one, 70-516 – Accessing Data with Microsoft.NET Framework 4.
Onward!
